Haunted Hotels: The Emily Morgan Hotel

I was visiting San Antonio, Texas with my mom, dad, and my friend, Eric in June of 2009. I always had a huge interest in ghosts ever since I was little and I always wanted to see one.

When we checked into the Emily Morgan Hotel it was beautiful and it felt like a warm and safe place to be in. We stayed on the top floor of the hotel. When we first entered the room, I felt a sad presence, a sense of loneliness and disappointment. The night soon ended and we all went to bed.

I woke up to hear what sounded like a hospital gurney wheeling across the floor with what sounded like tools on it and it was outside my room. I opened the door and no one was there. I assumed it was a janitor, so I went to bed. The next morning Eric and I went down one level to get some ice and we stepped out of the elevator and saw what looked like a patient of a hospital wearing a hospital gown.

It was an older woman who was crying very loudly, like someone had passed away in her family. We went down to the lobby and asked if someone could help this elderly woman on the 10th floor, she was crying. They told us that there was no elderly woman on the 10th floor. We knew there was an elderly woman there, so we went back on the 10th floor and she was gone.

The next night I heard someone crying again but it was coming from the outside the hotel door. I went outside and I saw the elderly woman again. I asked if she was ok and she never replied. The look on her face was indescribable. Her eyes looked as if her body wasn't there but her energy was. She stood up, and it seemed like she was elevated 5 inches off the ground when she stood up. She slowly floated down the hallway and entered into a room. I wasn't as scared, but more interested in finding out who she is and if she's ok.

That night I didn't sleep and I never heard her again for the two weeks I was staying there. One day I was researching the world's most haunted hotels and sure enough, the Emily Morgan was mentioned. It said that the top three floors where used as a hospital. To me that explain a lot considering what she was wearing.

I did not believe in ghosts until last night
by: Anonymous

My twin daughters and friend decided to stay overnight in San Antonio at the last minute. We did a last minute online reservation at the Emily Morgan Hotel at a great price. The hotel was very beautiful, and I asked my daughter to look up the regular room rate of the hotel.

At this time we learned the hotel was haunted, and we played around and made jokes. We read stories about the ghosts on the 7th floor, and 12th floor. My daughter's friend was nervous so my daughter quit reading the stories out loud but we continued to read a few quietly.

My daughter showed me a story that made her nervous. It was a recent story of a ghost and it was on the eleventh floor, three doors down. We became a little more nervous but still in doubt.

Later that night my daughter and I rode the elevator to our eleventh floor. The indoor elevator has a woman's voice that notifies you when you arrive on each floor. When we arrived at our 11th floor I heard, "Haunted floor."

I was a little nervous and told my daughter I thought I heard her say haunted floor. My daughter stated that's what she heard too but didn't want to say anything. We were more nervous but did not want to look crazy and say anything.

We went to our room and my other daughter and her friend were laughing and stated, "We heard you trying to scare us."

We asked, What do you mean?"

She said about 15 minutes prior to our arrival they heard noise outside the door that sounded like chains. At this time I thought they were playing with us trying to scare us. Well, we were scared and stayed awake until 1:30am with the TV on with no volume. No other activity occurred.

At two in the morning I was awakened by a noise in the room but picked my head up and saw nothing. I went back to bed. At three in the morning I was awakened by the sound of chains outside the door. I was scared as heck. I was shaking and immediately nudged my daughter.

I told her what I heard and she was mad and told me, "Quit trying to scare me, I am trying to sleep." At that time the sound of the chain started again.

I was so upset I contacted the hotel front desk and they informed me of other guests who have reported occurrences and if I wanted, I would be given a full refund. It was now three in the morning, and I informed my girls that if anything else occurred I would be running from this room in the tank top and panties I was sleeping in and they better run fast behind me.

In the morning when checking out, I informed the man that I had reported my complaints to the female desk clerk that worked last night. He informed me there was no female at all working the front desk.

Beautiful hotel but these occurrences made me extremely nervous.

Weird Presence
by: Anonymous

On April, 2010 my husband and I were on our honeymoon, and stayed in the Emily Morgan Hotel. Beautiful hotel, but on the first night of staying there, I heard a scream in the hallway that woke me up. i got up to see what was happening and no one was there. on the day we were checking out of the hotel, I had to use the restroom so I asked if they had a restroom somewhere in the lobby. they told me to go to the floor above to get the elevator. it was went to the restroom and felt a weird presence and a vibe all of a sudden I felt cold and, felt so scared so I started running up stair to the lobby I had never experienced that in my life so definitely there's something in that hotel.
