Built in 1915, Hayswood Hospital became the victim of progress and in 1983, closed its doors after a nearby medical center caused it to become out of the way and obsolete. Today, Hayswood is fast becoming a ruin as it decays unused, awaiting its fate. Whether it transforms into a new housing development or a parking lot remains to be seen, but any plans for development require significant funding as clean-up at Hayswood is going to be very costly. Environmental agencies regard it as a potential hazard due to asbestos, lead-based paint and other toxic materials.

As days of indecision roll by, urban legends and ghost stories about the structure proliferate. Some of the sightings have included doctors in the hallways, a woman who roams about with her newborn baby, sounds of crying, inexplicable lights and a face that peers out of windows.


What you are about to see is truly creepy.


As a rule, we cringe whenever we see video that was more than likely shot with a cell phone as such footage is so grainy that the low resolution itself ruins it. Most times, claimed anamolies can be caused by the medium itself--bad, bad, bad video.

But this one is so surprisingly unnerving that we were compelled to present it.
