The Night that Changed My Life

My car broke down one night on an old back road here in Knoxville. It was raining pretty hard and it was cold. I must have walked ten miles before I looked back and there was a vehicle approaching. The headlights were dim and I could tell the car was an older model.
The one thing I will never forget was the car did not make any noise and it seemed like it was floating along. The car slowed down at me and I hopped in and the car picked up a little speed. I got me a dip of Copenhagen and then looked over to thank the man for giving me a ride. But no one was in the driver's seat. I panicked but the car was going too fast. I could not bail.
As the car got faster I noticed there was a curve ahead I didn't know what to do right as soon as I thought I was going to go off the embankment, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel guiding me safely around the curve.
By this time I made up my mind I was bailing. I flung open the door and jumped. I got up and took off running. I happened upon this garage a little ways down the road and went inside.
I told the attendant my story. He offered to give me a ride as soon as he closed. About that time, the door flung open and two men walked inside. Both of them were wet with blank looks on their faces. I knew what happened. I looked at them and said, "You two got a ride in the ghost car, too, didn't you?" and one man looked at me and said, "No we were the men pushing the car while you were sitting in the front seat!"
