I believe the old traditional style tricks in Hollywood for making spooky horror film is the best and still scariest way to scare the audience. New digital CGI effects only cheapen the film and the audience tends to see that the effect is non-believable. I’m all for old school special effects. This is an art form you can’t learn in a couple hours like with the computer effects that kids are learning. The audience thinks they are sometimes cool to look at but not very scary and are growing used to these effects to the point they are ruining the film. There are very few film companies making horror films the old way and that gives them the extra edge to scaring their audience like "Ghost Story" and "The Sixth Sense".
