Ambivalent About The Existence of Ghosts

Many bizarre things have happened to me over the years - whether they are sightings, visitations or the like I am unsure. I have always believed in the afterlife and remember asking my Grandparents when I was very small if they would come and look after me when they died and they both said that they would. I also asked if they would come and visit me but not scare me, again they agreed. It is for this reason that I am unsure as to whether 'ghosts' do come back as I am almost certain that could my grandparents appear to me now that they have passed over they would. They have never appeared to me so that I could see them however when I was younger things would disappear for a while and then return after I stopped looking for them - things like that.

I have always 'seen things' out of the corner of my eye, then turned to look again and the 'things' aren't there. Walking past mirrors and seeing a reflection, again out of the corner of my eye, but looking back and seeing nothing.

I recall on numerous occasions when I was about 10ish hearing someone walking across the upstairs landing at my parents house (the floor boards creaked) and then a dropping noise down the stairs. I always imagined that it was a little boy that was walking across the landing, then sitting at the top of the stairs and dropping a marble down them. I told my parents and they just looked at each other knowingly.

My brother died last year very young and very suddenly, he was always around when I asked my grandparents to 'visit' if they could - as they have never appeared to me since their death I am unsure whether or not the afterlife does exist. I am almost certain that could my brother come back to see me he would as we left alot of things unsaid.
